Life gets confusing, doesn’t it?
For Tell Me Thursday we are suppose to link to one of the Wordless Wednesday posts and tell about it.
My favorite one was last weeks.

The story behind it is this….
We have a little over 2 acres that is bordered on two sides by creek. We see snakes every once in awhile, not too often because the chickens eat them, but once in awhile. Normally we see Rat Snakes.
Now, personally, I am a live and let live kind of person. I dont mind snakes if they pose no threat. Unfortunately Rat Snakes look alot like Copperheads. The little kids came in saying that there was a big snake out by the goat barn. I said to let it be and got back to what I was doing.
A little while later they came back in and said I should come see it, they had been watching it.. I sent my 15 year old, Matt (who has great aspirations of being sucked back in time to be a mountain man/trapper/grizzly adams/thoreau type person) out to make sure the snake was not dangerous.
He came back in. It is a copperhead mom, I am going to kill it.
Me, not looking up. No it isn’t, it is probably a rat snake, Matt, leave it be.
No mom, really, it is a copperhead. I can kill it and use it for bait.
AHA! Fishing. No way, Matt, you are not killing the snake for fish bait.
Come look, mom, it is a copperhead.
I go out very distracted and without really looking snap a picture and come back in. Upload the picture to the computer ….and…
MATT! That is a copperhead! Get the little kids away from it! Kill it!
Matt sighs. It’s gone. It left after you took the picture mom.
To his credit, he has not once said, I told you so, or been disrespectful in any way. I am, however, embarrassed that I was that distracted. Thank you Lord, for protecting the littles while I had a moment of sheer ignorance.
