I know, I missed this. I am very overwhelmed with all that is happening right now, and I feel like I am on a hamster wheel! Click for more tell me thursday stories!
The story behind the teapot is this. When I was a child my Aunt’s (by marriage) mother was very old. I would say she was well into her 90′s, and had been a victorian lady in her prime. She lived alone in the house she had spent her entire married life in, a fabulous folk victorian in Michigan.

This tea set was in her kitchen. It is where I learned to love lemon drops, red counter tops and chickens! She was a grandmother to me, as I did not have one of my own.

She would make tea and we would sit and talk. I loved her and I loved her stories.

Well, she passed away and my Aunt gave me the tea set. I had it for years, and then one of my children broke it accidentally. I am the type of person that does not get bent out of shape about things breaking..I comforted the child, cried and moved on.

A few years ago, Marc saw this on ebay and bought it for me for Valentine’s Day. :) The exact same thing. It is dusty because it spends it’s time sitting behind glass!

What a wonderful story. How wonderful to be able to get those memories back and to now keep them safe behind glass. ;)
