Drivers Ed

So we are about to start drivers ed with Matt. The older two we sent off for someone else teach, figured the cost was offset by what it would cost us in nerve pills and strong alcoholic drinks.

We can’t afford to do it that way this time…so..has anyone taught drivers ed and survived? Because I would really like to know.

It isn’t that Matt is not responsible..he is. I mean, he is, after all the one we call Thoreau. Deep, thoughtful, responsible…

He is rock climbing today…did I mention that desire he has of mutilating himself? No?

I will have to think about this..I mean, Marc and I both are Vets so we have VA benefits as far as medical care. Marc needs his legs more for his work, but he is,admittedly, all ready on a 10% disability, and has a wheelchair..and my legs are still working well. It is just so hard to decide who the sacrifice the teacher should be.

I got my driver’s license pretty late in life. I know, it’s weird, I just waited a couple of decades. Anyway, I went to a private instructor, but, how hard can it be? He took me out on busy roads immediately. If I could handle that you should be able to handle starting out with your son in some empty mall parking lots, right?
