Well, continuing on with homeschooling week at Principled Discovery, today is a Recipe for Success. Wow.
It is also National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day! So share a recipe…figuratively, as in two parts love, one part creativity, or literally, as in a super quick, nutritious meal your kids scarf up. Think about what you do in the day, what helps keep it organized and you sane (or how you got past that need for organization and saneness!), and curriculum materials you find effective.

I would have to say that in all the years, the only thing that has been consistent is our faith In Jesus Christ and our determination to walk in the boundaries (and freedoms) He created for our family personally. Whether we were in a financial bind, dealing with the loss of a baby, the losses of all four of our parents, the near death of a child, my husband’s unexpected disability which began last summer, or our eldest moving back home and bringing her family..throughout it all the Lord has been faithful.
As I said yesterday, I used to be very proud of my clean and organized home until God moved me into a less organized season. If I was dependent on a system, or flesh it would have crumbled by now…wait! IT HAS crumbled! YAY!
SO my homeschooling recipe for success is this:
4 parts trust
4 parts faith
1 part willingness to learn
1/2 part commitment
1/4 part laughter
1/4 part tears
Shake together and keep moving in the bowl until it becomes a cohesive mass.

Now, for my real recipes, check out Baking Delights, which is my recipe blog!
Tons of Sons has a great recipe for success..I enjoyed reading it.
Mary Beth at Cheaper by the Half Dozen has an awesome post…and it is a recipe I need to follow more closely!

Thank you for sharing your recipe. I can sure relate to the only constant being God. Life sure throws curve balls into our best laid plans!
We too lost a baby and I want to say that I am sorry for your losses.
God bless.
That cake looks wonderful! And most importantly, yes, the Lord is faithful.
